What Is Executive Coaching?

At Vox Omnis Executive and Life Coaching LLC in Martinsburg, West Virginia, executive coaching is a relationship between the client and coach in which there is an absolute focus on the client.

The coach works to listen deeply to the needs, goals, and objectives of the client while actively helping them move forward. Furthermore, the coach promotes the client’s agenda while holding them accountable and helping them find and stay on their desired course.

As with most professions, there are several ways of approaching the task of executive coaching. At Vox Omnis, we employ an eclectic model that draws from various schools of thought, while highlighting the importance of the co-active method of engaging with our clients. This means the coach and client work together to address the whole of the client’s life.

Some managers and executives may seek a coach in an effort to hone existing skills and/or to overcome certain obstacles. Others may engage a coach to change behaviors or to broaden their opportunities for advancement. Meanwhile, others work with coaches to address issues such as work-life balance.

Whatever the reason for engagement, we believe that our clients are whole, albeit multi-faceted beings who gain little benefit from us helping them excel in only one area of their lives. While we understand and appreciate focus, we also understand that our clients do not live life addressing one component of their lives neatly and succinctly after the other.

That is, it is unlikely that one will be able to successfully address their finances, then their career, health, family, and spirituality without acknowledging and addressing the links between each of these areas.

Coaching is a one-to-one interaction between an executive coach and a client.

This can lead to professional and personal development in ways that alternative approaches may not. Coaching may be conducted over the telephone, in person, or via e-mail (or in any combination of these channels).

All information exchanged within the coaching relationship is absolutely CONFIDENTIAL unless the client authorizes certain information to be shared with the sponsoring executive in the case of company-sponsored coaching.
